Crazy tennis in crazy weather! I had 4 match points in 2nd set (3 in a row), but Usman got away with that game. And after that he started hitting flat on everything, serving aces (even on 2nd serve on a few occasions) and I was running short of gas. He took the tie break 7-5. Match tie break was neck to neck all along and I finally crawled over 12-10!! Phew... Good luck Usman and keep hitting it hard!

Had a good game with Usman in bright conditions. As often the case the scoreline never reflects reality, and in both sets Usman had several break or game points, but I think a bit of added experience paid helped me take them, but I was having to work hard for every point and Usman was hitting some excellently constructed winners. Another day, a different scoreline no doubt! Cheers Usman, good luck in your final match!

Good match with Val! She has great hands and made me run from one corner to another with her drop shot and lob tactic.....most lobs hit on the run and landing just inside the baseline! Keep up the good spirit Val and good luck for your next season!

Another close match with Rod! He dismissed me in the first set with his clean passing shots and lobs. I broke him in the first and last game of the 2nd set, though all games were close. And a 10-5 in the match tiebreak which is always tricky, so much mental! Thanks for the game Rod and good luck for the rest of your matches!

Had a lovely game with Val in nice conditions this morning. Whilst I did get off to the faster start in the first set, as any box leaguer knows, winning ( or losing ) a first set 6-0 can often mean diddly squat. Val improved and took a near immediate break in a second set which proved to be a good tussle, with the crucial break not coming until the 8th game at 4-3 to me, whereupon I was able to serve it out, but not before we had plenty of good rallies. Thanks Val, and good luck in your next match!
