The weather wasn´t conducive to good tennis (wind+rain) and Rhys was unfortunately the one to suffer more as I played aggressively with good depth and consistency off the ground. The rallies grew longer as I tired, favouring Rhys´s athleticism, but I was able to finish things before Rhys could really get into the match. Thanks for a good game Rhys and lets hope the weather improves for the final matches!

Playing in the tail-end of Storm Gareth, this was never going to picturesque affair, but it was clear from the outset that neither of us were interested in long rallies. Both serving well, I snuck some breaks at the end of the 1st set to take it 6-3. In the second, we traded breaks (all service games lost with the wind behind us!) before reaching a tie-break where Andrew elevated his game at exactly the right times - smashing a backhand drive volley winner to seal it 11-9. The Championship tiebreak wasn´t as tight as I was able to get a good run early on, taking the tiebreak eventually as 10-2. On a day with less wind, I think I might have struggled with Andrew´s hard-hitting but today I snuck the win!

Hard final match for me. There was no rhythm to the game with most of the points less than 3 shots mainly due to the size of Andrew´s 1st serve which when in is pretty much un-returnable. Thankfully in the 1st set and tie break (10-4 to me) he gave me a few 2nd serves to look at! good luck in your final 2 matches against Rhys and Andrew and very nice to meet you

Hard fought match against Rhys, played sometime in blinding sunlight, sometime in rain and wind and for a time, hail! We battled through the conditions and at times produced some lovely tennis. Much like my match against Randall, Rhys took the ascendancy early on but I managed to get my serve going and hit some winners later in the match to force a third set. 10-6 it was in the third, with a key point at 7-4, where I just managed to hit a seemingly out of reach backhand which Rhys admitted, caught him by surprise! All in all a great match, look forward to playing you again soon Rhys.

After a first set pounding at the hands of Randall´s forehand, what can only be described as a significant swing in momentum happened occurred as my first serve went in and I marauded to net to put away some volleys more clinically. In the tiebreaker, I had a nervy spell and was 9-6 down but came back and won it 11-9. Scoreline doesn´t reflect the overall high level of tennis played and hopefully I can have many more games like this (and we get days of beautiful weather like tonight!) going forward into the Summer.

Rhys´s box league record is amazing and because we have never played before I did my due diligence on him and through this process became aware that he is incredibly consistent and very quick around the court so I decided that I would just have to go for it and try and dominate and avoid long rallies. Fortunately my game plan paid off today and my ratio of winners to unforced errors was good enough to get me over the line. Thanks for a really good match and good luck in your remaining 2 matches.
